Before the Session
Facilitator: In advance of the session
- Review today’s scripture text and the session activities to help better facilitate the discussion.
- Have the Bible Background Video ready to view.
- Encourage your group to listen to the Faithelement podcast ahead of the next session (Share the link via email or social media)
- Prepare a whiteboard or flip-chart and markers.
Context
Encourage the group to, on one side of a whiteboard, list the ways our culture views the Christmas holiday – both positively and negatively – and on the opposite side, list what you think are the real meanings of Christmas. Stop for explanations, when needed. Once the suggestions die down, ask questions like:
