For the first time, Faithelement explores the text often known as “the woman at the well”. We explore Jesus’ long, respectful conversation with the Samaritan woman, resisting sexist, judgmental readings of her marriages. We note her transformation, her community’s lingering distrust, and water/living-water imagery. We ask how we can listen, humanize outsiders, and meet others’ needs with love.
