Before the Session

  • Have the Bible Background Video ready to view.
  • Review today’s scripture text and the session activities to help better facilitate the discussion.
  • You might want to consider changing your screen background slightly, or if meeting in person, move items around in your meeting place in order to check everyone’s observation skills (See Context).
  • Encourage your group to listen to the FaithElement podcast ahead of the next session (Share the link via email or social media).

Context

Share the “Council Meeting…” video and ask:

  • What do you make of this news story and why?
  • To what degree did you find yourself thinking that someone was right and wrong?
  • Why is it important for people in governmental councils to cooperate with each other?
  • At what points should people stop cooperating and start arguing and why?
  • How does someone “fix” things when a council meeting has gone off track?
