Consider opening your group time by playing “There is a Balm in Gilead” then ask:
- How familiar are you with that song and why?
- Where do you think the writers of the song got the idea for the lyrics?
- What do you think the writers of that song want us to hear and feel?
- How is a soothing song for you like an ointment on an ailment?
