Introduction

Our text for today is found in the longest book in the Bible, Jeremiah 15:15-21. Jeremiah was a prophet in the time before and after the fall of Judah to the Babylonians in the late 7th and early 6th century BCE. Jeremiah’s preaching to the Israelites was characterized by harsh judgment for their idolatrous ways and for their lack of responsibility regarding those who were the most vulnerable among them.

Scripture: Jeremiah 15:15-21

O Lord, you know; remember me and visit me, and bring down retribution for me on my persecutors. In your forbearance do not take me away; know that on your account I suffer insult. Your words were found, and I ate them, and your words became to me a joy and the delight of my heart; for I am called by your name, O Lord, God of hosts.

Session Pages

Update: Due to the effects of the COVID-19 Coronavirus, most Bible study groups are finding themselves meeting virtually, if at all. In an effort to be responsive to your emerging needs in these times, we are changing our format to make it more accessible for home use. Faithelement is adding a new “Connect” session page, and combining youth and media during this time. “Connect” is designed to work with virtual forms of keeping connected with your group. The youth page also now does not assume a group activity time. We plan to return to our usual session page set when groups are again able to meet in person. Please advise us on how we might better serve your needs in these trying times.
