Introduction

Once again, we find ourselves in 1 Peter and we are looking at 2:2-10. You will remember that the author of 1 Peter is writing to a group of new Christians who are living in the reality that choosing to follow Christ has put them at odds with their families and their culture and because of this they are facing ostracization and persecution from their communities and from the Roman Empire. The author of the letter empathizes with their circumstances and tells them they are like aliens living in a strange land.

Scripture: 1 Peter 2:2-10

Rid yourselves, therefore, of all malice, and all guile, insincerity, envy, and all slander. Like newborn infants, long for the pure, spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow into salvation— if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is good.

Session Pages

Update: Due to the affects of the COVID-19 Coronavirus, most Bible study groups are finding themselves meeting virtually, if at all. In an effort to be responsive to your emerging needs in these times, we are changing our format to make it more accessible for home use. Faithelement is adding a new “Connect” session page, and combining youth and media during this time. “Connect” is designed to work with virtual forms of keeping connected with your group. The youth page also now does not assume a group activity time. We plan to return to our usual session page set when groups are again able to meet in person. Please advise us on how we might better serve your needs in these trying times.
