Introduction

Today we continue in Matthew’s gospel in 13:1-9, 18-23 with the parable of the sower. Today’s parable tells the story of a sower who sowed seeds on what seems to be any ground he could find. The seeds planted on the path were eaten up. Those on rocky ground had no depth, so they dried up quickly. Those planted among thorns were tangled and choked by them. And finally, those planted in good, rich soil took hold and produced various sizes of fruit.
