Introduction

In this 3rd week of Advent, we are looking at 1 Thessalonians 5:16-24. Most scholars consider this to not only be the oldest book in the New Testament, but also the first of all the letters Paul wrote. In the letter, Paul lays out for the people a picture of what it looks like to live as a person of faith among people who are not connected to that same faith.

Scripture: 1 Thessalonians 5:16-24

Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. Do not quench the Spirit. Do not despise the words of prophets, but test everything; hold fast to what is good; abstain from every form of evil.

Session Pages

Update: Due to the effects of the COVID-19 Coronavirus, most Bible study groups are finding themselves meeting virtually, if at all. In an effort to be responsive to your emerging needs in these times, we are changing our format to make it more accessible for home use. Faithelement is adding a new “Connect” session page, and combining youth and media during this time. “Connect” is designed to work with virtual forms of keeping connected with your group. The youth page also now does not assume a group activity time. We plan to return to our usual session page set when groups are again able to meet in person. Please advise us on how we might better serve your needs in these trying times.
