Introduction

This week we are looking at the story of the call of Abraham as it is found in Genesis 12:1-4. As we read this biblical narrative, it seems that at the point God chooses to take another approach with humanity and that is where our story for today comes in. The call of Abram represents a turning point in the biblical narrative and a shift in the way God relates to humanity. God chooses to make a covenant with this one family and to provide blessings for this family so that the whole world may be blessed through them.
