Before the Session

• Review today’s scripture text and the session activities to help better facilitate the discussion.
• Have the Bible Background Video ready to view.
• Encourage your group to listen to the Faithelement podcast ahead of the next session (Share the link via email or social media).
• Prior to the meeting, ask several persons to bring in an item, picture or symbol of something in their lives that brings them a sense of pure delight and joy not because of what it produces, but simply because of way it is. – Provide paper and pens.

Reflection

Invite people to share about what they each have brought and what they delight in. Invite people to a time of individual silent reflection on the following: – Consider how this item delights you.
– In what ways is what you feel about this item like how God might feel about you?
– Imagine that God calls you by name and says, “(your name), this is what brings me delight and joy about you: ______________________” (Listen for what God might say to you and jot it down)
