An Examination of Consciousness
An examen is a way to pray that reviews life in the presence of God’s gaze. The prayer seeks to see his/her life in a detached way that leaves space for God to bring love and insight. Oftentimes when we view ourselves, we tend to be biased towards the positive OR the negative. The examen prayer asks God for the grace to see one’s self truly without flattery or condemnation.
