Share this true story of neighbors stepping up to save animals in dangerous cold weather: A local rescue organization in Kentucky, Paws 4 the Cause, issued an urgent plea when freezing temperatures pushed their shelter beyond capacity. With temperatures dropping into the single digits, they warned that they could no longer take in new dogs unless community members volunteered to foster or adopt. Residents in Lexington and Georgetown began responding, opening their homes so animals wouldn’t be left out in the cold.
