Context
As part of his message on the 2025 World Day of the Sick, Pope Leo said this, “Suffering, when it is accompanied, can become an occasion for a transformative encounter. When we feel supported, listened to, and loved, even the harshest trials can be illumined by a light that does not come from us. This is the mystery of hope: it is born from the experience of being accompanied, not abandoned.”
