Context

In this session’s podcast, Lacey shares a story. Here’s a bit of it to remind you of what she said: “The word I always used to describe my grandmother was tenacious… After my grandfather’s death, she had to deal with insurance roadblocks… Every time she would call, she got transferred to another department. She was put on hold for hours… Folks said they would call back, but they never did. But where most people would eventually give up, my grandmother did not. She called week after week… and finally, someone reviewed her case and said she was approved. The system wasn’t suddenly compassionate. Grandma Faye just refused to disappear… That’s what this widow was up against too.”
