Say: In the movie, Stepmom, two women navigate a fraught transition when terminally ill Jackie must entrust her children to Isabel, her ex-husband’s younger girlfriend. Initial resentment between the careful mother and the career-focused newcomer slowly gives way to mutual respect as they learn to share their roles, finding grace before Jackie’s time runs out.
