Before the Session
- Have the Bible Background Video ready to view.
- Review today’s scripture text and the session activities to help better facilitate the discussion.
- Encourage your group to listen to the FaithElement podcast ahead of the next session (Share the link via email or social media).
Context
Read this article from The Washington Post about the recent government shutdown and ask:
- How do stories like this make you feel and why?
- What would be the most “just” way to address this issue?
- Why do you think that many people’s first reaction to issues like this is to assign blame?
- What are some other difficulties people are facing these days and how does God work in the midst of such difficulty?
- What role are we supposed to play when people are going through hard times and why?
