Before the Session

• Review today’s scripture text and the session activities to help better facilitate the discussion.
• Have the Bible Background Video ready to view.
• Encourage your group to listen to the FaithElement podcast ahead of the next session (Share the link via email or social media)

This meeting is a shared potluck meal. Before meeting, contact group members and ask them to each bring a dish that has some meaning for them to share with the group. It might be a favorite family recipe, or one’s favorite takeout dish. Ask volunteers to come prepared to share their own personal stories of the connection they have with their particular dishes. For instance:

• What memories are attached to this food?
• Why did you choose to bring this dish?
• What do you like about it?

If people bring homemade dishes, it would be an added feature to bring the recipes to share as well. If a full meal is not practical, you can also have people bring in their favorite cookies (homemade or store bought).
