Introduction

As we work together to celebrate Easter in new ways this year, we will be looking together at Colossians 3:1-11. Paul wrote this letter to the early Christians who lived in the city of Colossae about 30 years after the resurrection while he was in prison. The aim of the letter is two-fold. First, it proclaims Christ’s lordship over all the powers of the universe and second, it proclaims Christ’s lordship of our lives. The passage we are looking at today is a beautiful text about what it means to live as one who has submitted to the lordship of Christ in their lives.
