Introduction

Today, we are looking at another passage in the book of Isaiah. This time, the passage is found in 2nd Isaiah 51:1-6. You remember from last week that 2nd Isaiah was written to the Israelites who found themselves in exile in Babylon. They were a people who were in a bad situation and these are the prophet’s words of comfort and assurance in what was most certainly an unprecedented time in the life of Israel.

Scripture: Isaiah 51:1-6

Listen to me, my people, and give heed to me, my nation; for a teaching will go out from me, and my justice for a light to the peoples. I will bring near my deliverance swiftly, my salvation has gone out and my arms will rule the peoples; the coastlands wait for me, and for my arm they hope.

Session Pages

Update: Due to the affects of the COVID-19 Coronavirus, most Bible study groups are finding themselves meeting virtually, if at all. In an effort to be responsive to your emerging needs in these times, we are changing our format to make it more accessible for home use. Faithelement is adding a new “Connect” session page, and combining youth and media during this time. “Connect” is designed to work with virtual forms of keeping connected with your group. The youth page also now does not assume a group activity time. We plan to return to our usual session page set when groups are again able to meet in person. Please advise us on how we might better serve your needs in these trying times.
