Before the Session

  • Review today’s scripture text and the session activities to help better facilitate the discussion.
  • Print the following verse on a poster: “Be still and know that I am God.”
  • Prepare a focal point of pictures of people from newspapers and magazines. Also include 3×5 cards with the words “family” “friends” “church” “Muslims” “Jews” “Christians” “refugees” “homeless” “hungry” “children” “races” “rich” “government leaders” “enemies” etc. on them (one word per card). Try to include as different kinds of people or groups from all walks of life and in diverse situations, such as including pictures of government leaders, people from different faiths, those we agree with, those we do not agree with, those we consider enemies; etc.
  • Have the Bible Background Video ready to view.
  • Encourage your group to listen to the Faithelement podcast ahead of the next session (Share the link via email or social media)
