Before the Session
- Review today’s scripture text and the session activities to help better facilitate the discussion.
- Have the Bible Background Video ready to view.
- Encourage your group to listen to the Faithelement podcast ahead of the next session (Share the link via email or social media)
Preparation
Put together a table with a lot of different unlit candles (you might ask group members to bring some of their candles and holders from home to place on the table) – votives, tapers, pillars of different heights, etc. Include a small taper to use as a lighter. If you have an Advent wreath, place this in the center of the table. If you do not have a wreath, place a tall LIT pillar in the center as the Christ candle which symbolizes Christ coming into our world.
