Isaiah 40:1-11

For Isaiah, too many years have come and gone without even a sign of God’s presence. Isaiah speaks for a people whose tears have turned bitter, whose sorrow has become anger. And in blunt and violent terms, the prophet demands God to come out of retirement. Tear open the heavens and come down, he demands. Don’t just stand there! Wake up! Come down! For God’s sake, do something! For four long weeks this Advent we’ll wait, in yearning, in expectation, in repentance, and in hope.

In this excellent podcast, which provided me with great inspiration for the Christmas Eve sermon, Nikki mentions a YouTube video of sheep running out of the fog and being warmly welcomed by a modern shepherd.
Is this the video she was referencing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Coq_grSFlNs ?
Hi Stephen!
I don’t believe that I was on that episode, but I really love the reference you sent, so if it wasn’t, it should be! Thank you for sharing it. – David Adams
